Christopher C. Gallagher
Firm Founder, Shareholder-Director
Gallagher, Callahan & Gartrell, PC
Having spent years as one of the most influential and highly regarded advocates in the New Hampshire Legislature and state administrative agencies, and a perennial selection to The Best Lawyers in America, Chris now heads the firm's efforts in Washington, DC, focusing his talent and experience on Congress and federal agencies.
Having served as general counsel for the New Hampshire Bankers Association, and having represented NH utilities, hospitals, insurers, aggregate manufacturers, and other entities whose economic objectives must align with government regulation, Chris has been involved in virtually every substantial New Hampshire economic regulatory initiative over the last 25 years. This experience provides him with an uniquely respected voice on Capitol Hill, enabling him to communicate effectively with members whose federal decision-making must reflect and respect the complexities of their home-state constituents.
A frequent speaker and commentator in local and national media on policy issues regarding financial services, privacy, business, and government, Chris has testified on financial services issues before U.S. House and Senate Committees, and has been a panelist in Capitol Hill briefings on intellectual property issues.
Twice appointed by President Clinton, he served two terms as a director and vice chair of the Corporation for National Service (AmeriCorps). He has also served as a director of the New Hampshire Business & Industry Association and as a member of the board of governors of New Hampshire Public Television. He is a member of the roster of the Financial Services Committee of NAFTA, an incorporator of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, and a member of the editorial advisory board of Privacy and Information Law Report.
A cum laude graduate of Holy Cross in 1962, Chris graduated from Harvard Law School in 1965.
